October 25

Just as I start getting ready to blog again, I read all these articles that say that blogging is dead. That people don’t want to know anything more about authors than:

  • what books they have out
  • what order to read them in
  • when the next one comes out

And that, ironically, is what I’ve been saying for YEARS is all I want to know.

Still, I can’t help thinking that too many author websites have things. Like…behind the scenes of the book. Deleted scenes from their books. Playlists. Downloads…and my blog is going to just be an easy way for me to put all that stuff together. Plus the occasional look into my brain, which you can easily avoid reading.

Mostly it’s nice to just have a space to put a little something down, even if it’s nothing important. Maybe especially unimportant things, because some days it feels like I’ve done enough of Importance.

So let’s see.

Writing is going well. I took the weekend off to go see The Seekrit Weapon. Got my first tattoo. And did not write. But have made wordcount since I got back, and I’m feeling okay about the story. (Dark Arts book one, for those keeping track.)

Once again, I’m making notes about adding some scenes at the front of the book, and renaming characters. I seem to like names that start with C or T this book. Or sound-alikes: Kel, Cal and Pol.

Anyway, I’m hoping to make some serious progress this week, in spite of my own moodiness and the fact I’m trying to get on top of housework and my cat seems to have forgotten where his litterbox is.

Glam.O.Rous. But this is my life.
